Anniversary Angel
The death of a family member or friend, whether anticipated following an illness or unexpected from an accident, can stir a tsunami of feelings which often go unacknowledged at the time. Practical arrangements take centre stage consuming energy and time leaving little if any to sit, ponder or weep. Traditional ceremonies follow familiar patterns and often leave people feeling isolated, empty and confused.
Life does go on for those remaining with family relationships often in flux. Emotional numbness is the psychological defence which protects from feeling overwhelmed. These feelings do not dissipate but merely sink to the bottom only to be stirred again when anniversaries come around.

Anniversary Angel provides a facilitation service to families or groups to gather as a collective to remember and commemorate the deceased at a time that is significant for them and in a manner which resonates. This may take place in a sitting room, a local sports facility or by the river - wherever has meaning. Time is given for people to remember and share, to discuss and disagree. This occasion offers both individual and family healing and an opportunity to reconfigure and adjust to the loss.
These few hours - usually 1 - 3 - may consist of music, readings, jokes, anecdotes as well as times of silence. For some, engaging in a much loved activity - model making, gardening, jigsaw or cooking - assist the grieving process.
Please be in touch to discuss your personal requirements.
